Is U.S. Spaced Out on Outer Space? -- Besides sex on the Internet, subjects about UFOs are the most popular. One insurance agent advertises insurance for the abductee, stating "Don't leave home without it." TV's science guy Bill Nye believes life in space is very reasonable to expect. But he doesn't believe Aliens are visiting Earth and inserting probes in people. Popular TV shows like the X-Files and Sightings attract the believers and the curious. Fashion designers tout silvery-inspired fashions; UFO art shows attract large crowds. Last year, a Newsweek poll revealed 48% of Americans believe UFOs are real. A Gallup Poll conducted in September 1996 showed 87% of Americans have read or heard about UFOs; 12% thought they had seen a UFO; 45% believe UFOs have visited Earth in some form; 71% believe the U.S. government knows more about UFOs than they are telling. |
Sharon Filip, a Washington state hypnotherapist, has worked with about 120 abductees the past five years. She stated many of her patients wake up with unexplainable marks or bruises that look like fingerprints, rashes or cut marks. They experience odd dreams or unusual fears. She said they'll see strange beings. "They'll turn their head, and suddenly they're no longer there." Filip herself recalls being in a bassinets as an infant and seeing an Alien bending over her."
