Step 1: The red arrow indicates the area where we began looking closely to find symbols in this photograph of Major Jesse Marcel posing with the Roswell UFO crash debris. Even from this vantage point, the incised symbols can be seen along the beam below the red arrow.

The symbols, actually an entire series of them, appear to be inscribed vertically on the I-beam in the Marcel photo where the I-beams criss-cross, giving what Bond Johnson labeled a scissors effect. The symbols nearest the criss-cross are the clearest, but under magnification, it is apparent the symbols are equidistant from each other.
