Step 4: Symbol 1 was inverted under magnification.The blown-up photo is shown here with its black and white colors inverted, the same as would be found in a photographic negative. The dark, inscribed symbol on the I-beam is much more readily apparent when its color is reversed from dark to light. Here the symbol appears white against a black background for color contrast. Can you see the symmetry in the symbol? Can you see the parallel edges of the beam on both the left and right sides?
