Jim Sparks was taught various types of alien shorthand. Despite his unwillingness to learn this new shorthand, the aliens insisted on teaching him how to convert 20 pages of English text into two pages of alien shorthand. Jim described the alien shorthand as being a 3-dimensional language where the symbols or letters just hung in the air in front of him. In the sketch below, 20 pages of English text are reduced in each subsequent box.

Jim explained the alien symbols were not a static two-dimensional design, but rather were differentiated by the number of left and right or up and down strokes used to create a symbol. Jim also stated the aliens used a numbering system that ended with the number 6. He recalled having written the number 7 just for fun to annoy the aliens.

AAER Note: Some ancient civilizations were taught or learned counting using increments of 12, as seen in 12 inches on a ruler as used by the Americans. Some people have speculated the 12 inches represents early counting systems, where people counted fingers and toes. Now, if the aliens visiting planet Earth had 6 fingers on each hand, this could explain the origin of the ordinary 12-inch ruler with twelve inches representing 12 fingers.
