The Scavenger UFO Captured on Videotape

07 March 98, 01:08 AM (Sunday) A friend and her new husband were over for an evening of Euchre. We had just finished up the last hand, so I stepped out into the front yard to check the sky. That's when I saw an all too familiar sight. My old night nemesis, The Scavenger UFO.

Now I realize the craft I have dubbed as such is likely not the same craft I see each time, east of my home. However, it's not the specific object I'm referring to, it's where the object is and what it's doing, that I'm referring to. It is always a flickering bright ball of amber colored light, drifting at tree top level, and about twenty miles per hour in a northward direction, toward the county landfill. Hence, the name, "The Scavenger."

This encounter was different from all the rest, though. I was prepared with a brand new video camera, better suited for night time telephoto operation. As I ran back inside to grab my camera, I shouted, "You've got to come out and see this!" Linda, my wife, followed me outside with our friend close behind.

They stood watching while I struggled to operate the, not too familiar, video camera in the dark. Within a couple of minutes "Scavenger" passed behind the trees and out of sight. Only the next day did I learn what I had captured on tape. The "Scavenger" was a disk shaped object. The brilliant light emanates from under the craft, at times reflecting off the underside of the craft, revealing glimpses of its actual shape.
